I have a whole pile of American Airlines miles (thanks Citi), plenty of American Express Membership Rewards, United MileagePlus miles, and a smattering of points with Alaska and Virgin America (soon to be combined anyway). I had a healthy balance of Southwest Rapid Rewards, but I’ve been burning through those before my Companion Pass expires at the end of the year. As for hotels, I have decent stash of SPG and IHG, but I’d like to snag some Hilton and Hyatt points, and maybe even some Wyndham, Club Carlson, or Best Western points to round things out.
Luckily, I continue to build my portfolio of points slowly but surely. With the cards I have, I can easily get Membership Rewards points and Citi ThankYou Points in a pinch, while my girlfriend has a good balance of Chase’s Ultimate Rewards points.
So, this summer the kiddo has the privilege of jumping on JetBlue metal. Guess what? It’s a trip without me!
When I told him I booked his flight on JetBlue, he exclaimed, “Finally! Something other than Southwest!” I haven’t been on a JetBlue flight yet either, I suppose I owe that to the Companion Pass..
He’ll be going to visit some family on the West Coast, and I’m not heading up in the air with him this time. Naturally, I signed him up for a JetBlue TrueBlue account, so he could earn miles on his flight. Normally, I would have stopped there.
I surprised myself with 2016 – happy to report it was a really successful year!
In my 2015 Review post, I went through some of the highlights of that year, as well as some goals for 2016. I want to take some time and review 2016 now! Like I said, it was a great year for me, my travelling, the blog, and I’m really looking forward to 2017!
