June was a busy month for me! A lot going on at work, a bit of travel, and we’re getting ready for some more trips this summer. Next week, we fly out to South Dakota.
First time for everything, right?
This hobby has taught me a lot. First, I was appalled by paying annual fees on credit cards. I mean, I had my trusty Discover card. Who needs a card that’s going to charge you just to use it? Plus, way before all of that, I thought all credit cards were evil!
Then, I thought people chasing status were crazy. I’m too tough for premium level service anyway, that’s for sissies. That may have changed too.
And up until recently, I thought buying your miles was nuts.
Well, that’s all changed.
If you remember my post from last month, this will become a monthly item on the writing board. Rather than just updating my Keeping Score page, I want to explain a few things. You know, why I do what I do.
If I just put numbers in front of you, I’m the only one that’s going to benefit from it. If I explain those numbers, I hope it helps you a little bit too!
I want to get everyone travelling a bit more, and a bit cheaper, too.
No, unfortunately, it wasn’t me heading home from the airport. Full disclosure…I haven’t gotten time to travel since exploring Chicago this past October.
I know! I’m getting restless, but don’t worry. I do have a few travel ideas coming up in the next couple of months.
I happened to have friend flying into Boston last week though, and that flight just happened to land after the public transportation system had shut down for the night.
Hey, did you know you could request an Uber ride for a friend?
If you’ve been following along thus far, you know we had a great time exploring the Yucatan Peninsula a few weeks ago. True to form, I couldn’t just have fun…I had to get home and analyze the entire trip. But let’s be honest, this is part of the fun for me anyway. (more…)
So I know I’m a week late on this one, but I wanted to post a great deal for Mother’s Day. It’s not around any longer, but I know from experience that this kind of deal comes around every year, coinciding with this little holiday.
Every year in May, tons of companies run Mother’s Day specials. From your local diner’s brunch menu to the credit cards in your wallet, you’ll find a way to save on something for mom, trust me.
What’s better (or more cliche…) than flowers?
